0871 Revenue Generating Numbers

Non-Geographic National 0871

0871 non-geographic numbers provide a national phone presence along with the ability to generate revenue and provide an additional income stream for your business.

0871 numbers are charged to the caller at a flat rate of 10p per minute (inc. VAT) at all times. An 0871 number can be dialed from all landlines and mobiles. Callers are generally as likely to call an 0871 number as any other 08 or National Rate number.

0871 numbers fall under the remit of PhonepayPlus from August 1st 2009 and are being regulated as Premium Rate numbers.

UK National Number

0871 numbers can be dialled from the UK and some European countries, however if you receive a reasonable number of international calls an +44870 number may be preferable, as it provides international access.

Number Translation

0871 numbers are pointed or 'translated' to your existing landline phone numbers. You needn't lose your existing numbers which your customers can still call.

Revenue Generation

An 0871 Non-Geographic Number is available as a feature of X-on's PhonePresence Virtual PBX. Some of the revenue generated when your customers call your 0871 number covers the cost of the outbound call and the Virtual PBX service.

Additionally a share can be paid to your business as revenue, or used to offset the monthly service charge, depending on the amount of phone traffic generated by your business.

Ofcom Regulations

From August 1st 2009 Ofcom have changed the regulations on 07, 09 and 0871/2/3 numbers. All services run via X-on must be Ofcom and PhonepayPlus compliant.
